Mindi Palmer is a certified instigator and promoter of all things related to music and community, and cannot wait to combine her passions here at Mountain River Ranch. She started singing right about the time she started talking, and could not wait to learn how to play piano and guitar so she could be included in the fun at the family gatherings.
Mindi credits her grandma with motivating her progress, because whichever kid had a new song, story, or poem, they got to entertain while the other kids did the dishes. She studied biology at Montana State University and took music classes as a respite from the rigors of the sciences. Upon reflection, her music had been the catalyst to far more satisfying adventures than her coursework and has definitely been more lucrative.
Growing up on one of the oldest ranches in the Snake River Valley, Mindi fully understands her roots, the rigors, and rewards of the western way of life. It delights her to know that her kids are pushing cows down the very same trails that her great-grandparents did, hopefully learning the same set of values that will ensure their legacy. She and her husband, Justin, are blessed with a herd of cows, a string of good horses, and three delightful “free-range” kids.
